NEW YORK-Zrike Brands will feature a favorite children’s author and popular TV distribution with two new licenses making their retail debut this fall.
Dr Seuss characters will be featured in a range of ceramic, glass and bamboo tabletop products for children and adults, as well as bath accessories and kitchen textiles. “Obviously, the Grinch will be the biggest draw in Q3 and Q4,” Chairman David Zrike said.
Licensing is something the company, which is familiar with licensing, has wanted for a long time, Zrike said. He called Dr Seuss an “American icon” and said he didn’t think the recent controversy on some of his older books will negatively affect sales. “People grew up with it and want to take it home and enjoy it. “
After watching a few seasons of the popular TV show “Schitt’s Creek” and having conversations with key accounts who felt it was a good licensing opportunity, Zrike will also be launching a collection of mugs, kitchen textiles and bath accessories that feature images of the show’s actors, keyphrases and performances of Rose Apothecary.
“We think this show is going to be very popular for a long time,” Zrike said, noting the number of accolades and awards she has won. The show received 19 nominations and nine Emmy Awards in 2020. “I expect a solid placement.”
The company will also roll out its new products under the Peanuts license, the result of an agreement signed last fall, in time for Easter.
