Season 21 of Hell’s Kitchen is set to release Thursday, September 29 at 8 p.m. ET. Each season, only one out of 18 contestants manages to win the title and secure a position in Gordon Ramsay’s chain of restaurants in the country. Season 20 winner Trenton Garvey currently works as a chef at Gordon Ramsay Steak in Paris Las Vegas.
Hell’s Kitchen is a cooking show that first premiered on FOX on May 30, 2005. Since then, the show has been hosted by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, who also created and starred in the British series of the same name. Also in the next season, 18 contestants will compete for winner’s accolades.
The show’s official synopsis reads:
“The competition is bound to be fierce, as each team is put through rigorous culinary challenges, with high-stakes rewards and punishments, all with anti-aging bragging rights at stake. But only those with the right combination of ingredients will continue in the competition until one of them is named the winner.”
Offering more information about the show, the synopsis further states:
“At stake is a life-changing grand prize, including a position as a chef, a cash prize of $250,000 and the coveted title of winner of HELL’S KITCHEN.
Trenton Garvey from Hell’s Kitchen was enjoyed by Gordon Ramsay
before winning Hell’s Kitchen season 20, Trenton was executive chef at a popular Maplewood restaurant known as The Blue Duck. He worked there for six years before moving to Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen.
During the show, Garvey’s thirst for knowledge and propensity to learn became evident very quickly. He analyzed foods differently than many of his competitors and often offered conflicting views on dishes popularized by top chefs in the industry.
Also, initially when Ramsay angrily lambasted everyone, Garvey didn’t let that affect him that much. In fact, he later even started earning praise from Ramsay during the Black Coat Challenges. Trenton was highly praised by OG Gordon Ramsay during his game-winning moment on Hell’s Kitchen. The celebrity chef said:
“Trenton is everything I could wish for in a protege. From an early age, he has already proven himself to be a creative, passionate and driven leader. He will be a major asset at Gordon Ramsay Steak 2.0 at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. .”
A winner at the age of 23, Trenton became the second youngest winner in the history of Hell’s Kitchen.
Treton said he “put it all online”
After winning, Trenton said in his speech that:
“I put everything on the table so I was completely at peace.”
He then explained how he approached his victory:
“Either I lost to an awesome competitor or I put it all on the table and Chef Ramsay sees what I’ve done and wants me to win this thing. I had already put it all on the line, so I was ready for whatever happened.”
The Hell’s Kitchen The contestant also used his moment of victory to propose to his girlfriend, who was his biggest support system in his journey as a leader. Trenton is currently engaged to her.
