“Unfiltered” host Dan Bongino claimed Democrats were in “problems” ahead of the midterm elections because they failed to effectively address inflation or crime issues. On “Fox and friends weekendOn Saturday, Bongino argued that the Democrats’ posts had “cracked” their image and showed Americans the true nature of “their own brand.”
DAN BONGINO: Kitchen table problems dominate politics. And the biggest problem of all will obviously be inflation, because it limits your access to resources, to food, to gasoline, to a doctor’s time. You have to pay for it. If you don’t have the resources and the money to do it, that’s the biggest problem of all. This is why the Democrats have such a hard time. That’s the first reason, because again, it’s a local problem. Your wallet, it’s in your pants pocket right there.
But the second part of this is that you have to remember this axiomatic truth of politics. Pete, you ran for office and so did I. And you know, you know it. If you haven’t said it, you know it. The most damaging political narratives, whether for a party or a candidate, are those that change your pre-existing notion of who that person or party was. We haven’t been able to do that with the central Democratic base for 40 years. We tried to tell people that they are the real racists. They’re the ones who don’t care about the little guy. They are the ones who prevent your child from going to a good school.
And you know what, guys? Honestly, we really didn’t crack it. They cracked it themselves. Inflation and crime have completely eviscerated this democratic idea. They tell people they care about the little guy because he’s the little guy who gets his ass kicked in the street when he gets robbed. And he’s the little guy who can’t fill his gas tank, and he sees the Democrat in charge in his area. They are the ones who gutted their own brand. We did not do it. They did it.
