LAKEVIEW – Crosby’s Kitchen is celebrating 10 years in the Southport Corridor with a day-long block party as a “thank you” to restaurant supporters.

Crosby’s Kitchen3455 N. Southport Ave., opened in 2012 and is part of 4 Star Restaurant Groupwhich operates several restaurants, including Frasca in Roscoe Village and Smoke Daddy, Tuco and Blondie and Ella Elli in Lakeview.

Crosby’s will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday and celebrate its anniversary with a block party featuring makeup artists, balloon artists and a table magician, said James Miller, operations manager for 4 Star Restaurant Group.

“It’s a massive ‘thank you,'” said Dan Harris, chief operating officer for 4 Star Restaurant Group. “We could easily shake hands inside the building and congratulate each other for the past 10 years, but we couldn’t get to where we are without the neighborhood, so we’re going all out.”

Kids will eat free during Crosby’s lunch hours, and the restaurant will offer specialty wine and $10 cocktails all day, Miller said. The restaurant is also bringing back some popular dishes that have disappeared from the menu over the years, including grilled artichokes, tuna salad, special prime rib and seafood grill.

The restaurant will play 2012 hits all day on its speakers, Miller said.

“In the restaurant industry, especially with what we’ve been through for the past few years, it means a lot to reach 10,” Miller said. “One of the coolest things over the last few years has been that takeout has exploded, we’ve seen a lot of fan loyalty and reliability in the neighborhood.”

Harris said the celebration was dedicated to restaurant patrons.

“It’s a thank you to our customers for the past 10 years, and we hope to be here for the next 10, 20 or 30 years – or however long they have us,” Harris said.

Crosby’s Kitchen will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
