An Australian woman who couldn’t find the iconic Kmart Christmas candle in stock after it went viral online has resorted to making her own – with great success.

The Sydney Christmas enthusiast had been searching for the $10 cookie-scented candle for ‘days in a row’ with no luck when she decided DIY was the answer to her prayers.

“Tonight I walked into Kmart Campbelltown and saw these normal Christmas cookie candles on a cart. I caught one and thought maybe I could try making my own version,” she said.

So she bought the $15 Christmas cookie scented candle — which is dark red in color — along with a brush, craft glue, plastic craft sprinkles she bought on Etsy, and contact spray. Selleys Qwik Grip adhesive.

“Tonight I walked into Kmart Campbelltown and saw these normal Christmas cookie candles on a cart. I caught one and thought maybe I could try making my own version,’ she said.

“This is the end result,” she said, sharing photos of the creation on Facebook.

“It may not look as good as the other or others may not like the end result, but I love it and I’m actually quite happy with how it turned out. past.”

“It only took five minutes, which was also a bonus. Just thought I’d share in case others find this a great alternative if they can’t get their hands on the Christmas cookie sprinkle candle.

It didn’t take long for fans of the Christmas-themed candle to praise her ingenious work.

A third added: ‘Your version definitely has more of a Christmas vibe, love it.

Last week, a Kmart employee shared a video on TikTok with the original $10 cookie candle featured in it.

‘I’m currently feeling this candle in the Christmas section. The most delicious thing I have ever smelled in my life and the nuggets! It’s the flavor of Christmas cookies. How beautiful,” the employee said.

Other Kmart fans were quick to follow the trend and more videos were shared about the trending candle, despite only being available for a few weeks.

A TikTok user named @themadsocialco loved the candle.

‘If you know me, you know I love my candles. As a social media manager, I always sit at my desk, so I always have a lit candle. It just helps me work better,” she said.
